In the first quarter of 2024, the household paper industry newly put into production with a capacity of 428,000 t.

According to the survey of the Secretariat of the Household Paper Committee, from January to March, 2024, the modern production capacity of the industry was about 428,000 t/a, with a total of 19 paper machines, including 2 imported paper machines and 17 domestic paper machines. Compared with the production capacity of 309,000 t/a from January to March, 2023, the production capacity increased somewhat. The regional distribution of new production capacity is shown in Table 1. Among the new production capacity from January to March, 2024, the main projects of large and medium-sized enterprises include:

● Hengan put into production an Andritz crescent paper machine in Yunfu base, Guangdong Province, with a production capacity of 30,000 t/a;

● Yusen put into production a crescent paper machine with PMP in Liaoning base, with a production capacity of 30,000 t/a;

● Liwen put into production four Baotuo crescent paper machines in Guangxi base, with a total production capacity of 100,000 t/a;

● Taisheng has put into production two light crescent paper machines in Hubei and Anhui bases, with a total production capacity of 80,000 t/a;

● Planted and put into production a crescent paper machine of Siavia in Guangxi base, with a production capacity of 20,000 t/a.. In the whole year of 2024, the industry plans to put into production more than 2.2 million t/a of modern production capacity, and the actual production capacity in the first quarter accounts for nearly 20% of the planned production capacity in the whole year. It is expected that some of the other projects planned to be put into production during the year will still be postponed, and the market competition will be more intense, so enterprises should invest cautiously.
